SCHOOL HISTORY
Caiṅaman Elementary School was first established in the year 1964 thru the effort of Tenyente del Barrio Antonio Debulgado who submitted the resolution to the Sangguniang Panlungsod which was approved by City Mayor Hon. Democrito Canlas and the Ministry of Education. It was July of the same year when the first Head Teacher, Mr. Belzesar Vista and six (6) teachers were assigned to offer their services as facilitator of learning.
In 1986, ECJ and Sons bought the hacienda. So, the school was transferred to its present site in Hda. Remedios, Brgy. Balabag, La Carlota City. It is situated in five hundred square meter lot donated by Mr. Raul Infante which was executed through a Deed of Donation and a Memorandum of Agreement. It was stated in the Memorandum of Agreement that the name of the school shall be changed to Raul Infante Elementary School in honor of the donor. However, it was disapproved by the NHL despite of the approval of the resolution made by the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod considering that, Caiṅaman is a name of a flower. There’s a rule that when a school bears the name of a flora or fauna it cannot be changed. So, their dream to change the name of the school was not realized.
Caiṅaman Elementary School is one of the non-central schools in the Division of La Carlota City which is 3.5 kilometers away from the city proper. It can be reached in a 10 minute travel through a trickle passing along the rocky and muddy road. It is surrounded with hacienda and farm workers living in small nipa huts and in houses granted by Gawad Kalinga. It has an extension classes, in a makeshift classrooms for kindergarten to Grade 4 pupils at Sitio Bagumbayan, Brgy. Balabag, La Carlota City which started last SY: 2009-2010 with 19 enrollees for Kindergarten. Mr. RP Zaragosa was the first teacher. She handled her class in the house of Brgy. Kagawad Fred Pajaro. By year 2012 Mr. Rosaleo Elisa Sr. donated a 70 sq. meter lot. This endeavor was initiated by Mrs. Leny A. Nillos, the school head and a woman with the wit and the heart.
Year 1992, the school encountered a tremendous incident when its 1 building with 3 classrooms was damaged by fire due to faulty electrical wirings.
Ninety-five percent (95%) of the learners are children of farmworkers whose economic status fall below the poverty line. Their source of living depend primarily from their income as laborers in sugarcane fields. But still, they lived happily and peacefully. There has been no occurrence of hazardous incidents which might have threatened the life of innocent children for the last 3 years.. Natural calamities like cyclones and earthquakes were noted, yet, they left no hazards not even unforgettable memories.
It has ten (10) concrete classrooms and one is used as (1) E-room and Learning Resource Center while in Bagumbayan Extension, children are motivated and have fun to learn in makeshift classrooms. Pupils learn in an environment where classrooms are well-structured, teachers are competent and friendly, Electricity/water supplies and WASH facilities/toilets are available and functional, with enough seats in one is to one ratio (1:1) however, K to 12 books/learning materials are not sufficient. So, teachers exhaust all means and resources to acquire those materials to ensure that pupils are given quality instruction.
The following are the school heads who have left their footsteps and imprinted a mark in every heart of their clientele which serve as a living legacy for the entire community to cherish.
Caiṅaman Elementary School will continue to serve its clientele wholeheartedly and in accordance with the promulgated laws and orders.
